The standard and custom manufacturing of flanges is good for jobs that reach high temperatures or corrosion resistance.
Unfortunately, there is one minor drawback with the use of the bolt connection because it requires a larger area instead of the traditional thread port that is normally used. However, the durability and reliability of a bolt flange causes it to still be extremely popular and are readily available for most jobs.
