The POWER-GEN International conference and exhibition is proud to announce that Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) has agreed to be host utility for the event happening December 4-6 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
“Having OUC as host utility makes POWER-GEN International a better conference as we celebrate our 30th birthday,” Teresa Hansen, vice president of content for Clarion Energy, said. “It strengthens our desire to make power utilities a bigger part of this event going forward. OUC, which operates coal, natural gas, landfill gas and solar generation facilities and it one of the nation’s largest municipal utilities, is a perfect partner for our event.”
Orlando Utilities Commission serves close to 250,000 electric and water customers throughout its region. One of its key recent innovations is the floating solar arrays, producing power from the surface of ponds in the region. It includes a 13-MW array at OUC’ Stanton Energy Center.
In union with OUC’s role as host utility of POWER-GEN International, the utilities Board President Gregory D. Lee will be a keynote speaker on the conference’s first day. Lee was elected president of OUC’s governing body in 2016. He will kick off POWER-GEN International’s first keynote session on Tuesday, December 4.
Other featured speakers in POWER-GEN International’s two keynote sessions on December 4th and 5th include Greg Scheu, ABB’s president, Americas region; author and economic trends expert Todd Buchholz; Emerson Power and Water Solutions President Robert Yeager and Russell Stokes, CEO and president of GE Power.
